VICTORIAN RAILWAYS KMQ CONTAINER WAGON – PROTOTYPE OVERVIEW
The KMQ container wagons were converted from U, T & KAB wagons during the 10 year period from 1974 to 1984. The body was removed from each of these wagons, and checkerplate flooring & container lugs were added. The KMQ wagons were numbered in the range 1 to 315. These wagons take a single 20ft shipping or transport container, and saw service over all Victorian branch and mainlines that carried a general freight service. |
